Giving Back

Recently I’ve been thinking about ways I can help others through my photography. I’ve decided that giving back to the community through my photography is something I want to  commit to doing in various ways throughout the year.  This month I am pleased to say that together with my church, Mosaic, I’ll be offering 30 minute mini portrait sessions on the afternoons of November 21st and November 28th. Just in time for the holidays!

All the proceeds from the sessions will go towards the Beyond US 2011 overseas ministry projects. Beyond Us ministries extends faith, love, and hope that encourages and supports self sustaining communities through serving teams in leadership, educational, medical, business and arts development, and sacrificial, creative contributions. There are various projects this ministry team does each year and I’m so excited to help.

The suggested donation is $50 per session and the digital images will be ready for pick up the following week. If you’re interested in doing a mini portrait session to benefit the Beyond US 2011 ministry projects, or if you have questions please contact me via email (there is a link in my menu bar on this blog) or come see me at Mosiac after the service this week.

And speaking of portraits…here is what James and I do for laughs in our free time when Elijah is asleep….yep, we are nerds. We set up the camera and set the timer to take funny self portrait pictures. Next time we’ll have to get Elijah in on the action!
